TRADER TRANSITS
Uranus squares the Nodes
As covered in our publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Planet Power – Uranus blog, dated 4-6-24, the planet Uranus signifies innovation, intelligence, unexpected/sudden change, and transformation, and is considered a “game-changer.” In the business world, it symbolizes higher-level technology, communications, education, and travel. Uranus is also known as the “great disruptor,” as it often reflects major fluctuations, reversal, and sudden, unexpected wild swings in the equities markets.
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the planet entered the sign of Gemini, an air sign ruled by Mercury (considered the lower octave of Uranus), which also exudes communications and transportation energies, where it will remain for 7 years. Uranus’ strong, mutable forces are suited for change, which will likely continue to signify major technological advances through 2033. The Gemini zodiac is also symbolized by the Twins, which can sometimes signify harmony, but also suggests times of differing thoughts and opinions. Please review our Planet Power - Uranus in Gemini blog, dated 6-12-25 for more details.
As also discussed, the North Node of the Moon has been determined to be closely related to the U.S. business cycle, which runs for about 18.5 years, per the works of the well-known author Louise McWhirter (please refer to our Trader Transits – North and South Nodes blog, dated 1-11-24, for more details). The North Node has been positioned in the sign of Pisces since February of 2025, and will ingress the sign of Aquarius on July 27, 2026. Historically, the North Node in Aquarius (and South Node in Leo) symbolizes a bottom in the business cycle. This does not necessarily relate to the U.S. Stock Market performance, however, as there are many factors involved, including other transits, and the start of a seasonally weak period in the markets.
As we have discussed in the past, the themes of many transits and aspects tend to repeat themselves, and the energies can be felt for some time before and after the actual date of the event. On this occasion, the planet Uranus will form a square aspect with the North Node next weekend, and the energies have already been felt during the latter part of this week. Both entities move rather slowly, therefore, these energies will last a bit longer than those of the inner, faster moving planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars).
Previous Uranus in Gemini transits have coincided with major military conflicts which often resulted in a stock market boom after an initial drop. On the last occasion (1942-1949 – World War II) Uranus retrograded back to Taurus in 1942, as it did on this occasion, before finally entering Gemini on June 1, 1942. The first 4 years of that transit resulted in a major bull run in the S&P 500, before consolidating in the last 3. Currently, the same path has been developing, and the rest remains to be seen over the coming years.
Although previous Uranus square the Nodes transits have not resulted in major moves in either direction, it does tend to spark sudden market sentiment shifts, investor uncertainty/nervousness, and over-reaction to news events. Be sure to have your “NO EMOTION” hat on during this potentially tumultuous period.
As we have also noted for the past several months in our Fear & Greed Index Weekly Update blog, and in our previous Uranus in Gemini blog, the combination of Uranus (disruption) in Gemini, and Pluto (transformation) in Aquarius (another air sign, ruled by Uranus and Saturn), suggests continued advancements in the areas of AI, space exploration, advanced transportation, quantum computing, and all types of communication.
Uranus is also the planet of Astrology, and combined with the transformative Age of Aquarius (also signified by Pluto in Aquarius) this industry may realize some increased popularity.
