Jupiter Conjunct Uranus

As covered in our recent publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (now available on Amazon), Jupiter plays a major role in the financial arena in astrology, symbolizing expansion, and abundance, but also exacerbating the negative on occasion. Uranus is known for sudden, unexpected moves, which often coincides with wild swings in the equity markets.

Jupiter, like Uranus, has been positioned in the sign of Taurus (2nd house of the zodiac, money, stability), which is ruled by Venus (also symbolizing money) since May 16, 2023. With the exception of the Venus Retrograde period (also known for reversals) from late July to early September, the financial markets have made significant gains while Jupiter has been traveling through Taurus. The two planets will conjunct (meet) on April 20, 2024, coincidentally on the same date of the next Bitcoin halving (for you crypto enthusiasts).

The general belief among financial astrologers is that market gains will continue leading up to the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction (though volatility is likely due to Mercury Retrograde the first few weeks of April (see our Trader Transits blog dated 4-1-24 ), and for a while after, but may then suffer a sudden, potentially sizeable, correction (Uranus), with the impending Jupiter/Saturn square in mid-August, which will be discussed in a later blog.

The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction occurs about every 13-14 years, and last took place in the sign of Taurus 84 years ago, in 1941. The history of this conjunction has coincided with major events, including the American Revolution, the French Revolution, the onset of World War II, the rise of civil rights, black empowerment, feminist movements, and the report of the first man on the moon.

These historical events tend to have huge implications regarding the financial markets and the overall financial system. Many of these same themes are heightened in the United States and around the globe as we approach this transit in the sign of Taurus, for the first time since the 1940’s.

Sectors to focus on during this period continue to be technology, aerospace, and defense.
