Virgo
As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology” (available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual and business birth chart, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.
As documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), and the houses then move counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the fact that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. Today’s focus is the sign of Virgo, which resides in the 6th house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Virgo is an earth, mutable, female sign, ruled by the planet Mercury. This sign represents analytics, attention to detail, and diligence. Virgo is a logic-themed sign, symbolized by the Virgin, or “maiden.” Whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and Virgo “season” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Virgo) runs from August 23 to September 22, in 2026. The major energies of Virgo include nervousness, perfection, commitment, and health consciousness. Virgo season is historically weak (as September is the worst performing month of the year), however, the last two years have been positive. Preserving some capital for better entry prices is advisable, should markets breakdown and correct.
Although the 6th house is not normally financially based, it does represent the “health” of a company, thus any company struggling with sales or earnings may suffer during this time-period. The associated Virgo energies will also punish those that are sloppy, or un-attentive to their work, as Virgo seeks perfection. Earnings season is also upon us, and those that fall short will likely see larger losses in their stock price.
This Virgo season, in 2026, includes several interesting planetary aspects, including Mercury’s ingress to this sign on August 25 (through Sept 18). Mercury “rules” the sign of Virgo (along with Gemini) and will also form a square aspect with Uranus on Friday, August 28, on the same date as a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. Watch for sharp communications between world leaders to take the forefront again during these events, which can affect the markets daily, but don’t usually sway them long-term. Volatility and uncertainty in the financial markets is expected, both globally and in the United States, during this typically unsettled season. Mars square Saturn will also occur on Monday, August 31, signifying a strong, challenging, type of environment.
Some sectors to watch for this Virgo season as the Sun and Mercury travel through the sign, include transportation (airlines, deliveries), retail/consumer discretionary (luxuries), communications, and energy. Remember to always perform your due diligence regarding trades and investments, especially during this “season.”
