Saturn in Aries

As covered in our publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Planet Power – Saturn, blog, dated 6-1-24, the planet Saturn signifies structure, restriction, rules/laws, limitations, and hard work, and in the business world, represents institutions, banking, and real estate. Saturn, also known as the “taskmaster,” urges a disciplined, realistic, and “proceed with care” approach to life, including financial endeavors.

The sign of Aries, as discussed in previous blogs, represents new beginnings, aggression, and “act before you think” energies. Saturn’s restrictive forces will likely “ground” some of that energy, to essentially make Aries more “responsible.” Speculative sector stocks generally slow down, and are replaced by industrials, real estate, and mining, as well as those with strong fundamentals. Other factors, however, including Uranus moving “direct” last week, may result in more violent price moves.

The Saturn/Aries transit, officially resumes this coming Friday, February 13, and will last for a little over 2 years, until April 12, 2028. Its initial ingress into Aries in this cycle actually began on May 24, 2025 (please see our Trader Transits – Saturn in Aries blog, dated 5-8-25), though it retrograded back into Pisces last summer.

The previous Saturn in Aries transit (April 1996 – October 1998) resulted in a major rally in the S&P 500, of approximately 63%, until a 15% correction in the last 2 months.

As we have discussed in the past, the themes of many transits and aspects tend to repeat themselves, and the energies can be felt for some time before and after the actual date of the event. As we also noted in previous blogs, both Venus and Mercury are associated more with swing-trading than longer-term investing, as they quickly move through signs. Both planets will reach the sign of Aries in the next two months, with Mercury entering the sign on April 14 (after a prolonged stay in Pisces - including a retrograde period), with the Venus ingress occurring much sooner on March 7.

The Aries aggression and “act before you think” energies should be met with caution and logic, aided by Saturn’s structure. The general belief among financial astrologers is that this time frame is to be treated as one of caution, and tight risk management, with no “illusions of grandeur,” as Neptune is currently conjunct with Saturn. Keeping share sizes small until volatility subsides is important, especially when attempting to “buy the dip” as high-flying stocks appear to be “on sale.” They can always go lower in the short term, and there will be a “safer” time in the future.
