Uranus Retrograde

As covered in our recent publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Planet Power – Uranus, blog, dated 4-6-24, the planet Uranus plays a significant role in the financial astrology arena.

      Uranus “rules” the sign of Aquarius, which is the 11th house of the zodiac, one of the financially focused houses. This planet is known as the “Great Disruptor” representing sudden, unexpected events, and radical change, and normally results in many break-outs and/or reversals. Some of the main traits and energies (including financial) attributed to Uranus include; high intelligence, imagination, knowledge, and futuristic technology.       

      Uranus recently entered the sign of Gemini on July 7, 2025, (please review our Planet Power – Uranus in Gemini blog, dated 6-12-25, for more details), where it will remain for about 7 years. In that blog we indicated that this ingress would likely coincide with another market rally, before potentially giving way to negative economic conditions. During its upcoming retrograde, which begins this weekend (and ends February 3, 2026), Uranus will briefly re-visit the sign of Taurus, from November 7 through April 25, 2026), before re-entering Gemini until 2032. Its recent stay in Taurus was very beneficial, covering most of the recent bull run.

      The previous Uranus retrograde period, which began in early September of 2024, and ended on January 30, 2025, resulted in many “disruptive” days, including a massive drop on the very first day, and again on January 27, just a few days before its end, despite the markets continuing to reach All-Time Highs throughout the whole period. This planet tends to affect the technology sector (signified by Uranus), and traders should pay close attention to that sector and prepare for volatility.

      Additionally, in our Planet Power - Uranus Direct blog, dated 1-28-25, we noted that its financial alignment with Aquarius, also an air sign, is associated with free thinking, futuristic technology, and digital money. Uranus’ return to Taurus in early November signifies a re-ignition of the energies experienced while it transited that sign for the past 7 years. This 8-month final stay in Taurus (for almost 80 years) will occur in both retrograde and direct movement, further confusing the money and financial global situation. Although the markets are generally strong in the last 2-3 months of the year, we should again expect some major disruptive reversal days lasting through the first quarter of 2026. 

      When Uranus re-enters Gemini again in April, 2026, combined with Pluto in Aquarius (lasting another 19-20 years), we can expect the continued advancement in sectors including AI, robotics, quantum computing, and a new sub-sector called air mobility.      

      As we have discussed in the past, the themes of many transits and aspects tend to repeat themselves, and the energies can be felt for some time before and after the actual date of the event. As we also noted in our 7-20-24 blog, Venus and Mercury are associated more with swing-trading than longer-term investing, as they quickly move through signs. Though both will be traveling through the signs of Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius during the Uranus retrograde, another Mercury retrograde period will also take place from November 9-29, exacerbating the advanced thinking and communications energies that both possess. This may derail any rally, as the history of these retrogrades is not favorable for markets, or spur a major reversal rally, which undoubtedly will result in high volatility.

      The general belief among financial astrologers is that there may be trouble brewing come early 2026, and this period will be difficult to navigate regarding intermediate term investing. Uranus rarely fails to deliver, and this retrograde period is sure to provide some twists, turns, breakouts (or breakdowns) and sudden surges in either direction.
