SIGN LANGUAGE
Aquarius
As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology” (available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual (and business) birth chart, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.
As documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), with the houses then moving counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the concept that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. On our website we will periodically discuss these energies regarding the mundane/general collective and the U.S. financial markets.
Today’s focus is the sign of Aquarius, which resides in the 11th house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Aquarius is a free-spirited themed sign, symbolized by the Water Bearer, and is an air, fixed, male sign, ruled by the planets Saturn and Uranus. This signs’ traits include intellect, forward vision, humanitarian interests, and invention. As mentioned, whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and this Aquarius “season” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Aquarius) runs from January 20 through February 18, 2026. Aquarius “season” is usually a bit choppy in the U.S. equity markets, so be cautious and selective.
As noted, the 11th is one of the financially focused houses of the zodiac. This position symbolizes future plans, dreams, and fate regarding one’s wealth. In the financial markets, Aquarius signifies high tech (including information, futuristic, and nuclear), as well as AI, Bitcoin, and electrical grid systems, consistent with its association with Uranus. Continued gains in these sectors are likely, as discussed in previous blogs, including Planet Power – Pluto in Aquarius, dated 3-17-24, Planet Power - Pluto-Neptune, dated 10-5-24, Trader Transits - Pluto in Aquarius, dated 11-8-24, and last year’s Sign Language – Aquarius blog, dated 1-6-25.
This Aquarius season contains a few interesting planetary aspects, as the planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars enter the sign between January 17th – 23rd, and ALL conjunct Pluto between the 19th and 27th. The mixed energies of these planets, in such close proximity to each other, suggests increased volatility in the equity markets, especially in the technology and commodities sectors. For investors and traders, a deeper thinking (Mercury) can offset strong ambition (Mars) in this transformational aspect, and prevent emotional reactions and/or love (Venus) for an equity. Stay especially focused during this time frame in this selective market.
Combined with the energies of the Uranus retrograde, located in the latter stages of Taurus (money), similar to last year at this time, expect sudden reversals at any time. This retrograde will end on February 4, 2026, around the mid-point of Aquarius season, though Uranus will remain in Taurus until early April.
As these retrograde energies start to fade, the full force of Uranus (known as the great “disruptor”) will resume. Since Uranus does co-rule Aquarius season, look for potential continued gains in the technology related sectors and stocks. Later in the year (in early April), Uranus will also change signs, permanently moving into Gemini, another “air” sign with some similar qualities. The combination of Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini shows promise for additional strong advancements in technology, including robotics, AI, and quantum computing.
There will also be an Aquarius solar eclipse this year, on the next-to-last day of this season, February 17, 2026, symbolizing further new phases of innovation, society, and community. These energies suggest the continued “change” in technology (especially digital), and sudden transformations, with Pluto in the sign, and Uranus as its co-ruler.
As noted, some sectors to watch for this Aquarius season as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars occupy the sign, include defense, technology, tech related communications, and cryptocurrency. Taking some profits and holding cash for future opportunities continues to be a consideration for the time being with the constant fluctuations in the markets.
