Venus in Taurus
As covered in our publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (now available on Amazon), and our Planet Power – Venus, blog, dated 7-20-24, the planet Venus plays a major role in the financial astrology arena. Venus symbolizes money, and its upcoming ingress into the sign of Taurus (representing the 2nd house of the zodiac/money and one of its home ruling signs), has financial implications, as we have mentioned in the past that the major 4 money related houses are the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th.
Venus will enter the sign of Taurus on Tuesday, March 31, where it will remain until Friday, April 24, 2026. Venus in Taurus, which occurs once per year, exudes more positive and grounded traits involving love and finances, than Pisces’ (which it will exit on Monday, March 30) confusion and volatility. As noted, this sign is ruled by Venus (as is Libra), and is considered a “home” sign, extending the normal strength of its energies. Markets have been known to improve seasonally as well in April, though last year markets bottomed after the first week of the month, due to the global tariffs. This year’s plight, of course, if heavily dependent on the status of the global military conflict.
On this occasion, the transit will also activate during a seasonally stronger time of the year for the U.S. equity markets (about ½ in Aries season and ½ in Taurus season), when reversals to the upside often occur. The previous two Venus/Taurus ingresses occurred from June 6 – July 4 in 2025 (Gemini/Cancer season), when the S&P 500 increased 4.6%, and April 29 – May 23, 2024 (almost completely in Taurus season), when it was relatively flat.
As we have discussed in the past, the themes of many transits and aspects tend to repeat themselves, and their energies can be felt for some time before the actual date of the event, and for a period after. As we also noted in our 7-20-24 blog, Venus (as well as Mercury) are associated more with swing-trading than longer-term investing, as they quickly move through signs. Venus will also be forming a square aspect to Pluto next weekend (Apr 4) and a conjunction with Uranus on the last day of its stay in Taurus (Apr 23), both of which could result in sharp price action.
Market sectors that tend to strengthen during Venus in Taurus transit include banking/financial, and consumer staples (necessities). It should be noted that Financials (sector ETF-XLF), and Industrials (sector ETF-XLI), important sectors to the economy, are at historic lows and due for a bounce. Hospitality and entertainment can also benefit, though other transits, including Saturn in Aries, may temper the enthusiasm. Less volatile (comfortable), value, longer-term considerations are favorable during this time-period, and a slow approach with small size positions is suggested in current market conditions.
For those interested or involved in the Crypto space, Venus in Taurus has been a very active transit for Bitcoin historically, with 20% price moves.
Additionally, all planets are “direct” through the month of April, which should stabilize the markets to a point, depending on the status of the global conflict, as major news events generally supersedes any seasonality in stocks. As always, do not dive into any rally headfirst, and avoid the FOMO.
