Mars conjunct Uranus in Gemini
As covered in our publication, When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and previous blogs, the planet Mars symbolizes assertiveness, passion, drive, ambition, and determination. Mars (which rules the signs of Aries and Scorpio) likes to “get things done,” and not sit on the sideline or be passive. Mars is also very competitive, has a “fighting” nature (good and bad), and encourages one to take challenges.
Mars is known to signify sharp tools and weapons, surgery, fire, and iron/steel. In the financial world it represents a company’s strategy and motivation, and rules sectors such as defense (military/war), mining (gold, Bitcoin, etc.), and surgical. In the equity markets, it often signifies high and low stock prices.
As noted, Mars will make a conjunction (or meeting in the sky) with the planet Uranus on July 4, 2026, in the sign of Gemini. The market will be closed as this date falls on a Saturday, however, Mars moves slower than the Moon, Mercury, and Venus, making its energies last a bit longer.
Gemini is an air, mutable sign (as discussed in our Sign Language - Gemini blogs, (most recent dated 5-7-26), ruled by Mercury, positioned as the 3rd sign/house of the zodiac, which relates to communications, transportation, and high technology. Mercury is also the planet of trading, which adds to the concept of volatility as it “returns” to its home sign.
Uranus, which represents sudden, unexpected events, rebellion, and erratic behavior, as well as symbolizing technology and cryptocurrency in the financial world, has recently entered the sign of Gemini, where it will remain until 2033.
The history of the Mars-Uranus conjunction, which occurs every 2 years, includes the inauguration of President Joe Biden, on January 20, 2021, as well as the surge of innovative technology with the rapid creation of the pandemic vaccination. In the financial markets, it has signified volatility, reversals, and some additional price surges when at all-time highs. In 2015, the conjunction occurred in March, a seasonally weak period, and the markets dipped 10% within weeks. All are possible this time around, with current market conditions, so active traders should be on high-alert. This particular Mars-Uranus conjunction will occur in Cancer season, known to be rather emotional, as it is ruled by the Moon.
Since Jupiter will change signs from Cancer to Leo, and Mercury will turn retrograde only a few days before, look for some unsettled price action. Though the month of July has been the 2nd most favorable for equity markets over the past few decades, these additional circumstances this year could temper potential gains.
The general belief among financial astrologers is that this conjunction may be met with volatility and sudden, erratic/unpredictable swings in price action in the markets, as well as possible further short-term gains. As usual, these energies may be felt up to a couple of trading days prior to, and after, this transit. High technology and defense stocks may experience this type of price action.
For longer-term positions, continue to be cautious around this conjunction, and remain careful not to let any excitement or over-exuberance effect your logical, intelligent thinking. Don’t over-think your trades, and simply refrain if indecisive. The coming Mars-Jupiter conjunction and Jupiter-Saturn square aspects, in mid-August, is another period of warning, which will be discussed in a future blog.
