SIGN LANGUAGE

Sagittarius

As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual and business birth chart, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.

As documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), with the houses then moving counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the fact that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. On our website we will periodically discuss these energies regarding the mundane/general collective and the U.S. Stock Market first trade date chart.

Today’s focus is the sign of Sagittarius, which resides in the 9th house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Sagittarius is a fire, mutable, male sign, ruled by the planet Jupiter. This signs’ traits include ambition and optimism. Sagittarius is a “fun-loving”-themed sign, symbolized by the Archer. As mentioned, whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and Sagittariusseason” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Sagittarius) runs from November 22 through December 21, in 2025.

The 9th house is not generally financially focused, however it does represent international trade/travel, and good fortune. The associated Sagittarius energies noted earlier also suggests market gains (historically positive time of year), though caution is necessary with current economic conditions and a very “narrow” market. The first week of this “season” will also be met with the most recent Mercury Retrograde (Nov 9 - Nov 29), which often results in volatile price action.

This Sagittarius season also includes a few interesting planetary aspects, including the retrogrades of Uranus (in Taurus), Saturn (until Nov 28) and Neptune (until Dec 10) (both now back in Pisces), Jupiter (Sagittarius’ ruler, in Cancer) beginning its retrograde on Nov 11, and Mercury (for the first week of the season). This is an unusual number of retrogrades intersecting each other, symbolizing unsettled conditions.

The energies of the Uranus retrograde, located in the latter stages of Taurus (money), which will not end until Feb 4, 2026, suggests markets are susceptible to sudden moves in either direction. Uranus is known as the great “disruptor” so watch for additional violent market swings and trend changes through Sagittarius, Capricorn, and part of Aquarius season.

The planet Venus (which represents money, fashion, and love), entered the sign of Scorpio this Thursday, November 6, remaining until Sunday, November 30, when it enters Sagittarius about 10 days into the season. With any luck, this can have a calming effect on the markets, with Venus’ more positive energies.

Some sectors to watch for this Sagittarius season as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars occupy the sign at various times, include communications, financials, and technology, for potential gains. The consumer “staples” (necessities) and consumer “discretionary” (luxuries signified by Venus) industries may flip-flop in the coming month or two, as the holiday spending season approaches, skewing actual retail sales figures. Taking some profits and holding cash for future opportunities continues to be a consideration for the time being.

The beginning of Sagittarius season is traditionally positive for equity markets, with holiday “spirit” combining with increased trader/investor volume. November has become the best month of the year for gains in recent decades, and usually carries through most of December, as seasonal strength has become the norm. The annual anticipated Santa Claus Rally and Quarter-End Window Dressing (discussed in previous blogs) loom at the end of Sagittarius season and the beginning of Capricorn season, which can hopefully provide a boost, though current conditions do suggest continued volatility.

Finally, all birth/natal charts are unique, and every individual (or business) possesses its own set of planetary and sign positions in each house.
