Scorpio
As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology”(available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual and business birth charts, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.
As also documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), and the houses then move counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the fact that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. On our website we will periodically discuss these energies regarding the mundane/general collective and the U.S. Stock Market first trade date chart.
Today’s focus is the sign of Scorpio, which resides in the 8th house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Scorpio is a water, fixed, female sign, ruled by the planets Mars and Pluto. This signs’ traits include courageousness, jealousy, strong will, and secrecy. Scorpio is a competitive and determination-themed sign, symbolized by the Scorpion. Whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and Scorpio “season” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Scorpio) runs from October 22 through November 21, in 2026.
As noted, the 8th house is another financially focused house, representing other people’s money/inheritances, shared finances, debt, taxes, and even death. The associated Scorpio energies noted earlier also suggests a distain for loss of money, and a challenge to keep it.
This Scorpio season includes a few interesting planetary aspects, including the planet Mercury transiting through the sign from October 6 (2 weeks prior to Scorpio season) through October 28 (about 1 week into Scorpio season). This is a time for some “truths” to be exposed regarding hidden secrets and/or deceitful practices, including those in the economic/financial arena. The next Mercury Retrograde (Oct 24 – Nov 15) will also encompass most of the season, which is historically challenging for the equity markets.
The planet Mars (which “rules” Scorpio) is also transiting the sign of Leo, which is a square to Scorpio (more challenging aspect). Intensity and aggressive price action normally accompanies this transit, so watch for volatility through the Mid-term elections.
The planet Venus (which represents money, fashion, and love), also traveling through this sign, will be in retrograde as well through November 14, which also has a history of restricting markets.
Finally, the Uranus Retrograde, which began September 10 (lasting through mid-February), though not historically negative for the markets, is another indicator of technology sector volatility, which appears to be the theme for the near future.
Some sectors to watch for this Scorpio season as the Sun, Mercury, and Venus occupy the sign, include defense related and mining. Gold has traditionally done well in this transit though a rising dollar and interest rates have quelled current gains.
The beginning of Scorpio season is traditionally volatile, and has been the culprit of some of the largest “crashes” in history. The market then generally smooths out, as November has become the best month of the year for gains over the past few decades. This year, the combination of the Mid-Term elections, Mercury/Venus/Uranus retrogrades, are likely to keep markets uncertain and non-directional. Keeping share sizes and stop-losses smaller than usual is suggested until the election results settle in.
Finally, all birth/natal charts are unique, and every individual (or business) possesses its own set of planetary and sign positions in each house.
