SIGN LANGUAGE
ARIES
As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual and business’ birth chart, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.
As documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), and the houses then move counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the fact that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. On our website we will periodically discuss these energies regarding the mundane/general collective and the U.S. Stock Market first trade date chart.
Today’s focus is the sign of Aries, which resides in the 1st house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Aries is an aggression, action-themed sign, symbolized by The Ram, and is a fire, cardinal, male sign, ruled by the planet Mars. This signs’ traits include bold action, courage, decisiveness, and initiating new ideas. As mentioned, whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and this Aries “season” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Aries) runs from March 21 – April 19, 2026. U.S. equity markets are often strong near the beginning of Aries “season,” but can fade toward the end.
As noted, the 1st is not one of the financially focused houses of the zodiac, although it does symbolize the leadership of a company, and IPOs. Like Aries, this house is associated with new beginnings, ideas, and the determination to succeed, though patience is not its strong suit. In the financial markets, Aries (the 1st sign) represents industries including military, defense, and steel, which relate to aggressive conflict. Mars’ recent position forms a square aspect to Uranus (beginning Feb 27) symbolizing violent price action in the markets, which immediately resulted in just that, with those energies lasting until mid-March. The planet Mars itself will enter this sign on April 10, spending the last 10-11 days of the season in its own sign, known as a “return,” which strengthens its energies even further.
This Aries season contains a few interesting planetary aspects, including both Mars and Mercury entering near the last week, signifying shocking news items and conflict that may continue to affect the markets. The biggest aspect, however, is the recently formed Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which began on February 20, signifying a clash of structure and restriction (Saturn) with ideals and dreams (Neptune), which are sure to keep stocks on edge. Please see our recent Trader Transits – Saturn conjunct Neptune blog, dated 2-1-26 for further details.
The current Mercury Retrograde, which often results in a quick market pullback, and signifies indecisiveness, uncertainty, and price action swings in the equity markets, began on February 26, and ends just prior to the beginning of Aries season on March 20 (please see our Planet Power – Mercury Retrograde blog, dated 4-1-24, for more details). This retrograde season has again been met with high volatility, and pullbacks, which started just a couple of days before and continues through the date of this blog. Mercury will turn direct at the beginning of the season as noted, and will also transit Aries during the final week of the season, which may help boost stocks.
Some sectors to watch for this Aries season as the Sun, Saturn, and Neptune occupy the sign through the entire season, include energy, cybersecurity, defense, and precious metals. If trading short-term, beware any “false breakouts” in either direction in the equity markets, with a lot of Aries energy in the fold, which associates with over-aggressiveness. Taking some profits on rallies, and holding cash for future opportunities, continue to be a consideration for the time being, with these constant price fluctuations.
Also, please consider reviewing our Quick Quotes – Sell in May and Go Away blog, dated 4-15-24 and 4-18-25, as that time of year is again approaching. We will have another blog covering this issue in the coming weeks.
